Dr Ajayi emerged as National Coordinator/ Country Representative of RCS

Dr Ebenezer Ajayi became the National Coordinator and Country Representative of the Research Cloud Scientists of the Foresight Institute of Research and Translation, Nigeria; following the first RCS election of 31st August, 2019. Until his new position, he served as the Chairman Protem Committee for 1 year.

He will serve in the new position for 3 years, and together with the others, will commence executive activities in November, 2019.

Dr Ajayi honoured as a Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development

Dr Ajayi featured in "Inspiring Stories" of the Science Communication Hub Nigeria

In recognition of his efforts in science, Dr Ajayi was interviewed by the Science Communication Hub Nigeria in order to serve as an encouragement to other young minds. He has this to say: "More science delivers more knowledge which can be applied to solving many problems in our society... [so]... aspiring scientists should keep their dreams alive. Reading wide, staying abreast with recent knowledge and discoveries will keep them relevant. As much as we know what we lack in Nigeria and Africa, they should not resign to fate. Rather they should keep putting their best feet forward.

Dr Ajayi and his team won a 2016 TETFund Research Grant

Dr Ajayi, one of the 2 co-investigators with the principal investigator, Dr (Mrs) F. M. Adeyemi, won a Nigerian Tertiary Trust Fund research grant disbursed through our University. The team will work on: "Activities of Nigella sativa and Azadirachta indica seed oils against carbarpenemase-producing Gram-negative bacteria: Possible alternatives for management of multi-drug resistant bacteria in clinical settings (UNIOSUN/TETFund/16/005)".

Dr Ajayi appointed as a Platinum Research Cloud Scientists of the Foresight Institute of Research and Translation, FIRAT

An opportunity to play a decisive role in research for impart in Nigeria and Africa at large was presented to Dr Ajayi following his appointment as a Platinum Scientist of the FIRAT-RCS. FIRAT is a science outreach organisation situated in Eleyele, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria as hub for raising the NextGen young and promising scientists in Nigeria and in Africa at large.

Dr Ajayi won the prestigious Argentinian Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation postdoc fellowship (2017)

The Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) fellowship will enable him to embark on post-doctoral training at the Biophysics and Nanotechnology Laboratory, Instituto Ferreyra, IMMF-INIMEC-CONICET-University of Cordoba, Argentina. Together with his Director, Dra Dolores C. Carrer, he will work on the evaluation of antileishmania potential of African vegetal extracts for 2 years.
