Dr Ajayi won the prestigious Travel Scholarship of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry to participate in the 23rd International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine/ 57th Meeting of the South Africa Association of Clinical Biochemistry/ 5th Congress of the African Federation of Clinical Chemistry which held from 22-25 October, 2017 in Durban, South Africa at the Durban International Convention Centre with the theme "Multi-omics, Laboratory Medicine and Personalized Medicine." There he presented an abstract titled: “Ethanolic extracts of Nauclea latifolia, Manihot esculenta leaf and leaf stalk normalized early symptoms of type 1 diabetes in alloxan-induced diabetic rats”
